GAME GUIDE · 5 MINUTE READ

Fly farther in Flappy Jack

Jack’s homemade wings respond instantly, gravity never takes a break, and the power poles become less forgiving. A steady rhythm beats frantic tapping.

Learn what one flap does

Every tap, click or press of the Space bar gives Jack the same upward push. Holding the key does not create a longer flap. After each push, gravity steadily pulls him downward until he reaches his maximum falling speed. The useful skill is choosing when to reset that fall.

Aim through the middle third

Do not chase the exact centre of a gap with rapid corrections. Enter the opening slightly below centre while rising gently, then allow Jack to drift. This gives you room above if a flap is stronger than expected and room below if you wait a fraction too long.

Look ahead, not at Jack

Jack stays at the same horizontal position while the poles move toward him. Watch the next gap and use peripheral vision for Jack’s height. When the current pole reaches his wings, your attention should already be moving to the following opening.

How scoring and burgers work

You earn one point only after Jack’s entire body clears a pole. The first pole serves a burger so the growth mechanic is obvious early. Later burgers arrive at scores 10, 20, 30 and every ten points after that. The burger moves toward Jack, he says “YUM!”, a one-second message appears near the ground, and his collision size grows.

Jack starts slimmer than the original character size. Every burger makes him a little larger, but growth approaches a fixed maximum. Even at that maximum, the smallest possible pole gap remains technically passable. The game becomes less forgiving without creating an impossible wall.

Use small corrections at high scores

The gaps tighten as the score rises. Large late flaps create more risk than slightly early, smaller corrections. Try a two-beat rhythm: watch the descent, flap once, then wait long enough to see the new path before pressing again.

What happens when you leave the tab

The game pauses when the browser tab loses focus or becomes hidden. Tap or press Space when you return. Your best score is stored only in that browser when local storage is available. Clearing site data, using private browsing or changing devices can reset it.

A five-run practice routine

  1. Run one: watch the arc after a single flap.
  2. Run two: focus only on entering gaps near the centre.
  3. Run three: move your eyes to the next pole early.
  4. Run four: use the fewest flaps you can.
  5. Run five: combine the rhythm and challenge your saved best.
